Understanding Lunar Energy

Understanding Lunar Energy
Tuesday, September 29th
7:15-8:30pm EST

Zoom & In Person at Broome Street Ganesha Temple
430 Broome Street, New York, NY

The Moon, called Soma or Chandra in Sanskrit, is not only a principal planetary deity in Hinduism, but is a major type of energy in the astral body. Lunar energy is associated with emotions, mental activity, nourishment, love, the divine feminine, devi (the goddess) and her many forms, rasa vidya (alchemy), menstruation, one’s maternal nature, and is highly important to the esoteric practices of Tantra.

Learning to work with lunar energy internally can lead to greater mental clarity, emotional balance, properly nurturing yourself and others, improvement in relationships, increased beauty, and the magnetism necessary for yin-oriented spiritual practices.

In this class, Dr. Sarika Persaud will explain the deeper meanings of the moon and lunar energy, teach you how to work with it in meditation and ritual, and relate positively to the moon to live a more peaceful and pleasure-filled life.

You are encouraged to use these practices during the upcoming nine-night goddess festival, Navratri.
